This page says what lintl holds about you, why, for how long, and how to get it removed. It is written to be read, not filed. If a signed data processing agreement covers some of this processing, that agreement wins for what it covers.
1. Who this is for
lintl helps people plan changes to a home: what the rules allow, what a plot and a house look like from above, what an extension or a renovation might involve, and what to send an architect. It is used by homeowners and by the architects and practices they share with. It is not professional advice. See the AI and property disclaimer.
2. What we collect
Your account. Your email address and sign-in details (held by Amazon Cognito), your display preferences, and the practice or organisation you belong to if you are part of one.
Your projects. The addresses you add and the property facts lintl fetches for them (the property reference, the plot and building outline, the planning constraints that apply, planning history), the rooms and measurements you take, the extensions you draw, the names you give projects, and the documents lintl makes for you (reports, brief packs).
Your chats. What you type, the files you attach, lintl’s answers and the sources behind them, and the short notes lintl keeps about you between chats (“what lintl remembers”), which you can read and delete in Settings.
On your phone. Photos you take of rooms stay on your phone unless you add them to a chat or a document. If you turn notifications on, a push token for the phone. A random install id with counts of which screens are used, so we can see what people use. It never includes what you typed or where you live. The look you choose and your other settings stay on the phone. lintl does not read your location: it uses the address you type.
Technical. The IP address and device or browser signals in our hosting and security logs, kept for three days. On the website, the cookies needed to keep you signed in. The app uses no cookies.
We do not ask for special category data (health, for example). Please do not put it in chats or files.
3. Why we use it
| Why | Basis |
|---|---|
| Run your account, your projects and your chats | Contract |
| Fetch the property and planning data you ask about | Contract |
| Answer you with AI, and make documents for you | Contract |
| Tell you about your case when you turn notifications on | Consent (your switch) |
| Keep the service secure and investigate abuse | Legitimate interests |
| Meet legal duties (financial records, for example) | Legal obligation |
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not show advertising.
4. AI and your content
To answer, lintl sends what you type, the address and facts of the property, the extension you have drawn and any files you attach to an AI model. The models run on Amazon Bedrock in Europe (Ireland). The app says this once, before your first message, and asks you to agree.
Who makes the models. By default, lintl's answers come from Claude models made by Anthropic. Voice conversations use Amazon Nova Sonic, and pictures of a proposed extension are made with Amazon Nova Canvas, both made by Amazon. If you pick a different model in the model menu, it may be made by Mistral AI, OpenAI or DeepSeek, and the menu names the maker. Every one of these runs on Amazon Bedrock, so your content goes to Amazon Web Services, not to the model maker directly.
Your words are not used to train models. We set Amazon Bedrock so that, where the model allows it, prompts and answers are not kept by Amazon or the model’s maker after the request. A few models require their maker to keep prompts. Those are marked in the product and you are asked before you use one. Some models (“Global”) may process a request outside Europe. You are asked before the first use of one.
What lintl stores for you (chats, documents, project data) is in our own storage in Europe, separate from the models.
Answers can be wrong or incomplete. Check with a professional before you submit anything.
5. Who we share with
We use these providers to run lintl, each only for its job:
- Amazon Web Services: hosting, sign-in, storage, logs, AI inference, in Europe
- Google: address suggestions when you type an address, and places you ask about
- Ordnance Survey: maps and building outlines
- PropertyData: property facts for an address
- planning.data.gov.uk and local councils: public planning data
- Tripadvisor: places you ask about near a home
- Expo: delivery of push notifications to the app
- Loops: delivery of email notifications, when turned on
When you send a brief to an architect or a practice, you see exactly what goes before you press send, and the practice becomes responsible for what it receives. Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the transfer safeguards the law provides.
We may disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect people, rights or the service.
6. Where data is stored
In Europe, on Amazon Web Services in Ireland: chats, documents, project data and account preferences. The AI models you can choose by default run in Europe too. A Global model may process a request elsewhere, as section 4 says.
7. How long we keep it
- Your account, projects, chats and documents: while your account is open.
- Hosting and security logs: three days.
- What lintl remembers about you between chats: until you delete it, or your account.
- Financial records, once billing is live: as the law requires, up to six years, with no chat content.
Deleting your account (Settings in the app, the account menu on the website) erases your chats, documents, what lintl remembers, your phones and your profile at once, and removes your sign-in. A case you shared with a practice is closed, not deleted, so the practice keeps what you sent it. Ask us if you want your name removed from it.
8. Sharing with a practice
A brief pack you send to a practice contains the project (the address, the plot and outline, the rooms and the extension), the documents you chose and the messages you wrote with it. The practice holds that under its own policies. Within a practice, members see what their practice has been sent.
9. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, erase or restrict your personal data, object to some processing, and ask for a copy you can take elsewhere. Most of this you can do yourself: Settings shows what lintl remembers, Documents holds what it made for you, Export (under Data controls in Settings on the website) gives you a file of your chats, your projects and the names of the files you uploaded, and Delete account removes the rest. For anything else, email lintladmin@flyingriverlabs.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
10. Cookies and the install id
The website uses only the cookies needed to run it (sign-in, security, display choices). See the cookie notice. The app uses no cookies. It keeps a random install id on the phone, with counts of which screens are used, so we can see what people use. It carries nothing about you or your home.
11. Age
lintl is for people aged 18 or over.
12. Changes
We update this page when the product or the law changes, and say so in the app or by email when the change matters.
